CENTRAL POLICE RADIO TRAINING INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI
Central Police Radio Training Institute is a premier Institute functioning under the aegis of Directorate of Coordination Police Wireless(DCPW), Ministry of Home Affairs. The Training section of DCPW was converted into a full fledged National Level Training Institute in the Year 1971 and entrusted with the responsibility of imparting Police Wireless training to the Officers and Staff of State Police /UT Police & Central Police Organisations in the country.
In order to meet the challenges and to keep pace with the fast changing Wireless Technology, courses in this area are conducted to meet the present and future communication training requirements of the
State Police /UT Police & Central Police Organisations of the country. Apart from this, CPRTI extends the training in the Communication field to the Police Organisations of the Neighbouring countries imparting training in Satellite Communication Course, Training of Trainers on Communication and Radio Operator & Radio Technician proficiency Courses.Communication courses are conducted for senior level officers, middle level officers to develop their managerial skills for optimum utilization of the Wireless Communication for efficient Command and Control. These courses facilitate officers to plan and implement the communication set-up requirements for their organizations keeping in view the various situations.
Thus, CPRTI has the gigantic task of updating the technical knowledge of the concerned Police Telecommunication personnel in the operation, maintenance and efficient management of the network by imparting them training on the ever changing communication requirements. It continues to be engaged in the pursuit of excellence to achieve the goal of guiding Police Communication officers in the country.

HOW TO REACH CPRTI
The CPRTI is located on the Upper Ridge Road ( renamed as Vande Mataram Marg) and surrounded by Rajinder Nagar on western side, Karol bagh on northern side and Birla Mandir on the eastern side. Institute is situated at the walking distance from Jhandewallan Metro Station. The approximate distance of the institute from the major railway terminals/airport, in Delhi is furnished below for convenience of the candidates.

INFRASTRUCTURAL SET-UP
The main building of CPRTI comprises of 50 rooms and houses the various laboratories, lecture halls, Administrative block, library, reading room, Conference Room etc.
All the laboratories for imparting practical training for each of the courses are well equipped with the latest type of instruments and equipments, besides audio visual training aids.
An aerial ground for demonstration and practical training on antenna of different types, and transmission lines is available in the CPRTI Complex for training purpose.
Guest lectures when ever necessary, by eminent personality in the field of electronics and telecommunications, and on other subjects relevant to the courses are arranged during the various courses for the benefit of the trainees.
LIBRARY
The CPRTI houses a library in its Administrative block to facilitate trainees to make reference and for in-depth study etc. The technical library has collection of more than 5000 technical books. The books are issued to the trainees of various courses to facilitate them study beyond office hours.

HOSTEL FACILITIES
The institute offers hostel facilities to accommodate about 150 trainees in its hostel blocks located within the complex. A dormitory type of accommodation with single bed is provided to each candidate. The trainees of long duration proficiency courses would be required to bring their own bedding etc. A table and a chair are provided for each candidate to facilitate evening study by the individual. The institute has limited hostel facility for female trainees and officers.
TUITION FEE CHARGES
No tuition fee is charged from the trainees.
RECREATION FACILITIES
The recreational activities are restricted to mainly In-door games and volley ball as the location of the institute is on a hilly terrain/reserved forest (green belt) where sufficient plain ground is not available.
CANTEEN
The Institute has a canteen which is run by a Private Contractor to meet the boarding requirements of the trainees. The present boarding charges are Rs. 1860/- for Break-fast, Lunch and Dinner and tea in the morning and after dinner.
MEDICAL FACILITY
Two reputed hospitals Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) and Sir Gangaram are located very near to CPRTI within 1 Km distance from the institute. The trainees can avail the facilities of these hospitals, in case of any medical assistance requirement.
JOINING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TRAINEES
The trainees nominated for various courses at CPRTI NEW DELHI are required to report to the Deputy Director (Training) at 0900 hours on the day of commencement of the course. The outstation candidates may reach CPRTI one day before the commencement of the course. The Trainees may stay outside with the prior permission of the competent authorities.
Registration of the candidates for the course, hostel formalities etc, are completed on the first day of joining by 1100 hrs. All trainees nominated to undergo training must produce relevant Relieving Order/Movement Order from their respective organizations at the time of joining the course in CPRTI. It is mandatory for all candidates to be present on the inaugural session.
The following guidelines are expected to be followed by the trainees while undergoing training in the institute.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE TRAINEES
1 All trainees must maintain strict discipline and decorum throughout their stay in all aspects of training activities.
2. No leave is generally granted to the trainees during the training period.
3. Accommodation charges for the entire duration of the training course is to be paid in advance.
4. Mess charges are to be paid to the mess contractor in advance every month. (By 10th of every month).
5. It is compulsory for the trainees residing in the hostel to take food in the Hostel canteen. Only bed tea is served in the Hostel barracks/rooms. Each batch would be allotted a time slot for dining in the mess at the commencement of the course.
6. Food items mentioned in the menu only will be served in the canteen. Special dishes could be served on extra payment.
7. Trainees are not allowed to cook their own meals in the Hostel barracks or use stoves, heaters etc. and any other personal electrical appliances such as fan, lights etc.
8. All the trainees should possess their latest identity card issued by their respective units and produce the same on demand by the security guards or CPRTI authorities.
9. Except in recreation room, TV/VCR/RADIO etc, is not allowed in the barracks/Hostel Rooms.
10. Trainees are not allowed to arrange any party or such other functions in the Hostel blocks except with prior approval of the authority.
11. Trainees are generally not allowed to park their own car, scooter or Bicycle within the Hostel premises.
12. Trainees having any complaint regarding boarding/lodging and messing should approach the Course Coordinator / Concerned officers looking after the CPRTI Hostel. A Suggestion Box is maintained in the canteen and any complaint regarding the canteen, mess etc. can be dropped in it for necessary remedial action.
13. Trainees leaving the Hostel during holidays must take prior permission from the concerned authorities.
14. Trainees would take full care of cleanliness/orderliness in the barracks and the complex.
15. Trainees are liable to be sent back to their respective units apart from initiating departmental action if they :-
Do not have minimum requisite qualification or standard for the respective course.
Lack to show progress in the weekly/monthly tests.
Absenting without permission etc.
Mishandle or damage any equipment, instrument, fixtures or any other property.
Associate himself directly or indirectly in the act of gambling, intoxication, indiscipline, and misbehaviour or causes nuisance/disparagement in the campus.
Violates any existing order/rule/regulation or leaks out any official secrets to any unauthorised person.
Entertains any unauthorised guest.
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS OF DELHI
Delhi's climate fluctuates between two extremes. During winter (December to February) temperature can slump down to 1 to 2 degree celsius, while in summer (May-June) it may rise upto 45 degrees celsius. As such, it is extremely essential that candidates attending courses are well equipped with proper bedding, clothing, mosquito net etc. in accordance with the climatic conditions during the period of the training course.
